What is AviClear Acne Laser Treatment?

Best for: Treating acne without long-term medication, especially if you have already tried topical treatments and medications but are still experiencing regular breakouts.

AviClear is the first and only FDA-cleared laser specifically designed to treat mild to severe acne. It targets the root cause of breakouts: sebaceous oil glands.

Why this is best in class: As the only FDA-approved laser for the medical treatment of acne, Aviclear has been through the clinical research. Even though it is new to the UK, we have over two years of hands-on experience and clinical evidence shows significant reductions in inflammatory lesion counts and meaningful improvements in acne severity for patients after a standard course of three treatments.

How Does AviClear Work?

AviClear uses a 1726nm wavelength laser that safely and selectively targets the sebaceous glands. By delivering controlled energy to these glands, it reduces their size and activity, which means less oil production and fewer breakouts over time.

Think of it as retraining your skin. Rather than masking symptoms with topical treatments or medication, AviClear addresses the underlying issue to help to prevent future breakouts from forming in the first place.

We recommend 3 sessions in total, each 4 weeks apart. This treatment is offered only after a Specialist Dermatology Consultation to determine suitability, which is free of charge if so, but if not, we treat you as a standard acne dermatology consultation – meaning you get the right support for your skin even if Aviclear is not it (this carries the dermatology fee).

This treatment includes:

• An in-depth consultation before commitment
• Treatment
• No downtime or need for medication
• Ongoing care over 12 months to ensure success – we have monthly touchpoints with you included in the course so we can keep track of your progress

• Session length: 30 minutes
• Number of treatments: 3 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart
• Downtime: Minimal. You may be slightly red immediately after, but most people return to their normal routine straight away
• When you’ll see results: Breakouts typically start to settle within 2 to 3 months, with continued improvement for up to 6 months after your final session
