Getting a full skin or mole check London isn’t just an appointment—they’re an essential part of your skin’s health routine. Our mole checks offer clarity, early detection and peace of mind, so you can focus on what matters most.
We start with a quick chat about your skin history—what’s changed, what’s new, what’s on your mind. Then we carry out a full-body mole check using a dermatoscope (a microscope for your skin). It’s thorough, discreet, and done with care.
You’ll get your results and next steps immediately. If a mole needs to be removed, we may be able to do this on the same day. Prefer to go via your GP? We can refer you with a full report.

“Prompt, professional and very reassuring service in a small and friendly clinic. I had a thorough skin check and immediate removal of a small cancerous skin blemish, and I am very pleased with the results…” Google Review
We believe looking after your skin shouldn’t feel clinical or cold. It should feel like taking care of your future.
We take time to listen, explain what we’re seeing, and answer all your questions—mole-related or not. Because good skin health is about the whole picture.
Our dermatologists are blue tick certified by the British Association of Dermatologists. It’s the highest level of dermatology qualification in the UK, and our dermatologists at No. 23 Skin meet it.

Because skin cancers appear in many shapes and sizes, they can be challenging to identify. While skin cancer pictures can be helpful in learning what skin cancer can look like, getting to know your own skin and understanding what to look for can help you detect cancer early when it’s easiest to cure. If you have any concerns, always get it checked – even just for peace of mind.
As a basic rule, look for changes in size, colour, shape, itching, bleeding, or any new marks that persist. If it doesn’t look or feel right, get it checked. This list is not in place of any medical advice, if you have any questions or concerns, you must seek specialist opinion – either from us or through your dermatologist. Check out our short ABCDE guide here.
The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends you do a skin cancer self check once a month – and to see a dermatologist to monitor any changes once a year. Your dermatologist may suggest more or less frequently based on your individual circumstances and your skin.

No. You can book directly with us. If we find anything that needs further care, we’ll share a full report with your GP or onward referral team.
Not necessarily — but it’s worth staying on top of things. Sun exposure is part of life, especially if you’ve spent summers outdoors, travelled, or just love being in nature. We’re not here to shame you for that. Skin is meant to be lived in.
What matters now is keeping a close eye on any changes — new moles, changes in shape or colour, or anything that doesn’t feel quite right.
That’s where we come in. A mole check with one of our dermatology experts can give you peace of mind, or help you catch something early — when it’s easiest to treat. Either way, you’ll leave with answers, a clear plan, and no judgement.
We’re here to protect your skin, not perfect it.
Yes. As is best medical practice, we will check all your moles because we don’t want to miss anything that you may not be able to see. Interestingly the most common place for skin cancer on a man is their torso and for a woman is the backs of the calves. However, this is not always the case.
Located in Kensington, No. 23 Skin blends consultant-level dermatology with a warm, local clinic feel. No white coats. No sales pitch. Just honest advice, medical rigour, and a team who genuinely care.
Mole Checks with our Consultant Dermatologists are 295 – book online here.
As we have dermatologists examining your skin via dermoscopy, you’ll get immediate feedback during your appointment. If a mole looks atypical, we’ll explain exactly what that means and outline your options—including same-day removal or referral if needed.
Yes! We can remove moles for cosmetic and medical reasons – including biopsies. If you are interested in removing your mole then please let us know. Sometimes we are able to do this on the day if it is your preference to do so.
Yes – we are covered by BUPA, WPA, AXA and others. Please contact us at the point of booking and we can talk you through it. Also contact your insurer to check your cover as every policy is different, we can’t be held responsible if your insurer fails to provide cover.
We ask you to undress to your underwear so we can examine your skin thoroughly, but your comfort is a priority. You’ll be given a gown and the room is completely private.
Yes. Even on cloudy days, UV rays can damage your skin. Use at least SPF 30 with broad-spectrum protection, and reapply every 2 hours if you’re outside.
Book in for a mole check with one of our dermatologists. Early detection of skin cancer makes all the difference, and many moles are harmless — but worth checking. Your GP can also help, so don’t put it off.
It’s essential — but not the full story.
Joy is SPF at 9am, protective clothing from 11a, and a siesta at 1pm to limit direct sun exposure.
We’re not here to tell you to skip the beach. We’re here to help your skin love it too… that’s why we always recommend an SPF of 50+ and to seek the shade between 11 and 3. If you have had a lot of sun exposure or if you notice any changes on your skin, it is vital to have your skin checked too.
We’re all for sunshine. (Vitamin D, joy, holidays in the Med — we get it.) But UV exposure, hormones, and even inflammation can leave behind uneven pigmentation that dulls the skin’s natural vitality.
Our dermatologists specialise in distinguishing between harmless pigmentation and damage that needs treatment. From laser therapy to tailored skincare plans, we take a medical-grade approach to restoring clarity without compromising the skin barrier.
Think of it as editing, not erasing — keeping the story your skin tells, but with a clearer page.
If something’s been playing on your mind, don’t put it off. Early detection saves lives—and takes a weight off your shoulders.
