What is the benefit of a facial?

The benefit of a facial is simple – to improve your skin. Our facials are bespoke to you because everyone’s skin is very different. But as a general rule, they follow the same routine: cleanse, peel, extractions, mask, massage, LED light. The overall goal is to clear, cleanse and make your skin glow.

Many people are hesitant to book for a facial because they fear that their skin could look ‘worse’, for example experiencing redness or breakouts. This is usually due to many different, heavy creams and oils being applied to your skin. After a facial with No. 23 Skin, there should be no downtime and no unwanted after effects because our team are experts in the health of the skin. Whilst relaxing is an added benefit, our facials are designed to get positive effects. Other facials, such as ones you might get at a spa, are great for relaxation, but might not take into consideration what your skin needs. Hence why you might have redness following the session.

What are peels?

We use a light chemical peel, containing Salicylic and Malic Acid. Targeting dead skin cells, they help to accelerate cell turnover and remove dead skin safely from the surface, leaving you with glowing skin and no downtime.

We also use a botanically based peel that is suitable for pregnant women and for those with acne concerns.

How do you do your extractions?

All by hand! This way we can be sure we don’t break the skin, cause any inflammation of capillaries, and to ensure all congestion is removed sufficiently.

Why do you use LED Light Therapy?

This is one of our favourite parts of the treatment! It calms down any inflammation/redness, heals the skin, hydrates and kills any bacteria (so is great for preventing and healing breakouts). On top of all this, it is also very relaxing and calming!

We use high quality, medically graded products in all our treatments, ensuring that you get the best results possible.

When is the best time for me to have a facial?

Anytime! You won’t experience any downtime and you’re able to apply makeup immediately after (not that you’d need to!). If you have a specific concern, we would recommend doing a course of treatment, however if you have an event to attend and want to look your best then you can have the facial from two weeks prior to the event, or on the day itself.

Why should I maintain regular facials?

If you have a specific skin concern, such as acne, regular facials are recommended as we must treat the skin for six months in order to get the best results. The facials have an accumulative effect and it takes time for the skin to improve. Always trust the journey.

If you wish to have facials for general skin maintenance then we also recommend monthly facials as it takes 28 days for the skin cells to renew. As we age, this slows down so we must physically remove the dead skin from the surface, safely and effectively. By having our facials monthly, your skin will continue to glow and won’t look ‘dull’.
