So, what is Profhilo?
It is a gel containing one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market. Injected under the skin, it spreads under the surface stimulating the dermal cells to hold on to and move moisture to the skin’s outer layers. The result is plump, dewy skin.
Why is hyaluronic acid important?
Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body (about 2/3 in the skin itself) where it binds to water molecules to hydrate the skin. Our skin needs to be hydrated to function properly as our protective barrier.
If it is not hydrated our skin loses elasticity, becomes tight, dry, saggy and is less effective at protecting against bacteria and other aggressors we are exposed to daily – such as UV and pollutants.
